PC07-18 Unauthorised development and encampments

This consultation covers local authority and police powers, court processes, trespass, planning enforcement, the provision of authorized sites and the impacts on the travelling community.

The Government is seeking views on the effectiveness of existing powers and gathering data to inform future policy and legislation.

New Tree Charter Toolkit

The Charter for Trees, Woods and People Toolkit developed by NALC, provides guidance for parish, town and community councils on good practice for trees in the UK.

This guidance supports the Woodland Trust Charter for Trees and should enable local councils to work in conjunction with both Neighbourhood Planning and Tree Warden Scheme strategies.

This Guide is issued by the Joint Panel on Accounting Guidance (JPAG), and jointly published by the Society of Local Council Clerks, the National Association of Local Councils and the Association of Drainage Authorities

Councils can prepare their Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2017/18 in accordance with either the 2017 or the 2018 edition. The main change of substance is clarification on how councils should account for Community Infrastructure Levy.
