Meeting of the CALC Executive Committee- Truro
The Cornwall Association of Local Councils is hosting an event to be held on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at New County Hall, Truro 10am-4pm. The event is open to member and non member councils and is your opportunity to find out how this will affect your council and your community.
The cost of the event is £10 per delegate (to cover catering provisions)
The day will look at the future arrangements for Cornwall Council and the impact of the changes on the subsequent parishes review. There will be plenty of time to ask questions of the key people in the process and they want to hear from you!
We are currently working on the detail but sessions will include :
- The Final Size of Cornwall Council - The Boundary Commission for England will present their final recommendations and explain what happens next
- The shaping of Cornwall Council Electoral Divisons – an explanation of the next round of consultation to establish the new electoral divisions for Cornwall Council.
- Community Governance Reviews of local councils – what does this mean for your parish and how can you participate.
- Community Networks and their role in local governance and decision making – a session on the new opportunities for community networks as a forum for local decision making.
To be held in Newquay (please note the changed venue) a meeting of the Cornwall Larger Councils Committee.
