I was born in Inverness, Scotland and lived in Beauly on the family croft until I left to join the Royal Air Force at 17.

I was in the Air Force for four years where I trained as a nurse. From 1972 until 2000 I worked in different fields of nursing in various locations around the country, moving to Cornwall from Guernsey in 2005.

I joined my local Parish Council 10 years ago, where at present I am the chair person. I joined the Executive in November 2017 and was delighted to be nominated as Chair in August 2019.
