CALC Appoints a New Deputy County Executive Officer

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Mary Gosling as Deputy County Executive Officer.

Mary is a highly respected and well-known figure among local councils across Cornwall, having worked as Clerk/RFO for Ponsanooth and Gweek Parish Councils. She brings a wealth of practical knowledge and experience spanning council governance, finance, policy development, funding bids and community development.

In her new role, Mary will contribute to the delivery of CALC's advisory and support services, with a particular focus on member communication, operational service delivery, and strategic support. She will provide advice on governance, legal and procedural matters, support the coordination of training and events, and oversee the maintenance of CALC's resource library and digital platforms.

Her appointment strengthens CALC's capacity to provide timely, professional, and accessible support to members, and continues our work in modernising and professionalising local governance across Cornwall.

Mary will start work on 3rd November, and members will have opportunities to meet her at forthcoming events and meetings. I'm sure you'll all join me in welcoming Mary in the coming weeks.
